BUS ROUTES

There are 4+ services to the airport per hour.  All leave Doncaster Transport Interchange and take between 25 minutes and 1 hour depending upon traffic.  So please allow some spare time; whether this will improve with the current "A638 Quality Bus corridor Scheme" remains to be seen!

All the bus stops are down stairs and the buses are the quick 707 (Green Airport Arrow), X19 (from Barnsley) the 91 and 230 The 707 and X19 tend to be on Stand 1 A with the 91 and 230 on Stand 2 A.  Please check when you get there.  It's a good overall service.

Those travelling from Worksop, Retford and Bawtry can use the hourly X29 and X30 Lynx services to the Airport; a pleasant ride on a new bus!

CYCLE ROUTES

The airport car park has a limited number of lockable bicycle pens but please contact Reception in the terminal building before you depart for the airport!  Vacancies are rarely guaranteed.

From personal experience I can state that all of the cycle routes to the airport are best described as dangerous and not worth using as they are a mix of road, track and show incongruence at junctions with roads.  (DMBC does have a Cycling Action Plan but I have only read about it in a FARRR Study paper entitled the Do Minimum Scenario! Worrying?)

Arrive alive leave your bicycle at home!  Just a personal opinion from a keen cyclist.

That said the new access road from Hurst Lane has a fantastic cycle route into the airport.  Sadly it links up to nothing as the Council have not created any cyclist safe infrastructure in the wider area.  If DMBC where as slick as the airport owners then life would be even greener in this Parish!

TRAIN ROUTE

The nearest station is Doncaster.  It is about 8 miles NW of the airport and is a major station on the East Coast Main Line.  Currently there is some disruption at this station due to major rebuilding of the transport interchange.  It will be very traveller friendly when finished!

From the rail station take a bus or taxi, see buses above.  If you know at what time you will be needing the transfer I suggest that you pre-book a Private Hire service, as they offer good cars at competitive, if not the cheapest prices, try 07931950756.
